NOTE FROM GSB:

Joel was a founding member of Green Shoebox Band. The challenges of COVID caused us to take a break and reorganize with new members. We appreciate Joel’s talent and commitment to drive from Topeka for rehearsals and gigs for years. We wish him the best as he continues sharing music in his hometown with friends and hope he can occasionally sit in with us.

Joel was born at a very young age in Topeka, Kansas.  He’s been playing professionally since he was 15 and got his start in a Polka Band (seriously).  After that came opportunities to play with some really great musicians in a variety of genres – rock & roll, classic oldies, country, blues & funk, as well as Christian worship music.  He took time off from college to tour nationally for a year; studied music and computer science at Washburn University; spent a lot of years working in I.T.

• Loves to collect and play beautiful instruments.
• Has written a song or two.  Literally.
• Is allergic to chocolate.
• Went swimming in the Panama Canal.
• Dad’s name is Harley Davidson.  Oh yes it is.
